Blaine Favel, MBA, LLB - Executive Chairman
Mr. Favel is the Executive Chairman of One Earth Oil and Gas Inc., and a Director of One Earth Farms. Blaine has an LLB (Queens University) an MBA (Harvard Business School), LLD Honorary (U of S). Mr. Favel has worked with the law firm of Bennett Jones, and with RBC Capital Markets. Prior to this position, Mr. Favel worked with Sprott Resource Corporation to found One Earth Farms, Canada’s largest corporate farm. Mr. Favel is the former Grand Chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations. Mr. Favel is currently serving as the Chancellor of the University of Saskatchewan.
Peter D. Sametz, P.Eng., ICD.D – CEO
Mr. Sametz is the CEO of One Earth Oil and Gas Inc. Mr. Sametz has in excess of 30 years of experience in the oil industry, working with large, intermediate and emerging companies engaged in light oil, natural gas and heavy oil production, managing growth from 1,000 to 40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. His career has been characterized by the early adaption of technologies including horizontal wells (since 1987), “modular” SAGD oil sands projects, COGEN (2009), dilbit by rail (2010) and the integration with a refinery in 2006.
Mr. Sametz graduated in engineering from Carleton University with high distinction and is aHe isH member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). He is a director of Gemini Corp. and has served as a director of Connacher Oil and Gas Limited, chairman of the In Situ Oil Sands Alliance (IOSA), and governor of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP).
Stephen Marston, P.Geoph. - Vice President, Exploration
Mr. Marston is the Vice President, Exploration for One Earth Oil and Gas Inc. Stephen’s career spans 27 years of oil and gas experience starting with Amoco Canada (1986) followed by several successful junior companies. For the last seven years, Stephen held the VP Exploration position with Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd. He provided leadership and direction for all exploration, land and A&D activity as the company pursued light oil, natural gas and oil sands targets. Prior to this, Stephen held Chief Geophysicist positions with Real Resources Inc. and Cabre Exploration Ltd. Stephen Marston is a Profession Geophysicist with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering (1986) from the University of New Brunswick.
